Biography
Alex Niederman is Coverage Counsel and Litigation Manager in Amerisure Insurance's Office of Legal Counsel, where he serves as in-house counsel for claims, product, and underwriting matters. Alex drafts coverage opinions for the claims department; manages the company's declaratory judgment, bad faith, and extracontractual litigation; and advises the company's underwriters on matters of policy drafting, statutory requirements, and risk transfer provisions in their customers' work contracts.
Alex has over 15 years of experience in the insurance industry. From 2008-2015, Alex worked in private practice as an insurance defense attorney for multiple firms in New York City, focusing on the defense of attorneys, design professionals, developers and contractors, accountants, broker/dealers, insurance agents, directors and officers, condos/HOAs, and healthcare professionals. From 2015-2021, Alex worked as a complex liability claims adjuster for YorkPro and then Liberty Mutual, focusing primarily on matters involving construction professionals. In 2021, Alex transitioned into a role as in-house coverage counsel in Liberty Mutual's Legal Department, where he managed insurance coverage and claims handling practices litigation. Alex worked at Liberty until his recent move to Amerisure in the Spring of 2024.
Alex is admitted to practice law in New York and Massachusetts, and he lives outside of Boston, MA with his wife and two daughters.
